Ordered to rest
The 26-year-old French international has been ordered to rest after "suffering a bad fall on Sunday" which caused the injury, his club said. Govou therefore joins defenders Claudio Caçapa and Sylvain Monsoreau on the sidelines for the first knockout round second-leg tie against PSV on 8 March. Lyon lead 1-0 thanks to Juninho Pernambucano's goal in the Netherlands. Govou has made 26 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring four goals, while playing six matches in the UEFA Champions League.
