Lyon facing Ben Arfa absence

Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is doubtful for the Group E visit of VfB Stuttgart on 7 November after spraining his ankle in League Cup action.

Olympique Lyonnais' French international midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is doubtful for the UEFA Champions League visit of VfB Stuttgart on 7 November after spraining his left ankle.

Midweek woe
The 20-year-old sustained the injury during the midweek French League Cup victory at SM Caen, and has been ruled out of Lyon's Ligue 1 home game with Valenciennes FC on Saturday. "He will be rested for three to six days," said coach Alain Perrin. After a slow start to the season, Les Gones top the table in France and welcome Stuttgart to the Stade de Gerland looking to build on their 2-0 Group E success in Germany on Matchday 3.
