Troubled joint
The 21-year-old had surgery in April to resolve a problem in the same knee, but is now set to go under the knife again in Amsterdam. The former AFC Ajax player, who has made seven Bundesliga appearances this season, is sure to miss Hamburg's UEFA Champions League match against FC Porto on 1 November but may be fit for the Matchday 5 fixture at Arsenal FC. Hamburg are at the foot of Group G having lost all three of their games.
