Paris-Saint Germain FC talisman Zlatan Ibrahimović has committed himself to the French champions until June 2016 by signing a new contract at the Parc des Princes.

The 31-year-old striker arrived at PSG in July 2012 from AC Milan and scored 30 Ligue 1 goals to become the competition's top scorer in his first season. "At the moment, there are no clubs in Europe who are more ambitious than PSG," said the Swedish international after signing the deal. "I sincerely hope this is the last big club I play for in my career. No dream is too big for Paris, just like no dream is too big for me."

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was equally happy with the announcement. "The desire of Zlatan Ibrahimović, one of the best players in the world, to write history with Paris Saint-Germain is a very strong signal. Together, we can reach the top of European football."

The club will continue their UEFA Champions League campaign, following an opening 4-1 Group C win against Olympiacos FC, when SL Benfica visit on 2 October.
