Injury woe for Monaco duo

AS Monaco FC will be missing two key men for a month after injuries to Josef Oshadogan and Lucas Bernardi.
AS Monaco FC will be missing two key men for a month after defender Josef Oshadogan and midfielder Lucas Bernardi were ruled out by knee injuries.

Injury coincidence
Oshadogan is to undergo surgery on the left knee which sidelined him for much of last season. The 28-year-old Italian has a meniscus problem, having only just recovered from cruciate ligament damage. Meanwhile, Bernardi has the same injury and the 26-year-old has returned to his native Argentina for an operation.

Bernardi influence
Both players appeared in Monaco's 6-0 win against Slovenia's NK Gorica in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round on Tuesday night. Bernardi was also a major figure in the principality team's run to the Champions League final last term, playing 12 games in the competition.
