The 21-year-old will have to undergo surgery on Monday to repair the damage. Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf, however, is optimistic that Van Damme will return by the end of the year. "I am sure he will be back before the new year," said Schaaf. Van Damme, who is on loan from Southampton FC, has made five Bundesliga appearances this season, three as a substitute.
