Striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has added to PSV Eindhoven's injury worries ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League showdown against Olympique Lyonnais.

Knee trouble
The 27-year-old Dutch international suffered a knee injury in training today which makes him a major doubt for the first knockout round second-leg tie in France, where PSV will aim to recover a 1-0 deficit. "Jan has overstretched something in a knee ligament," said coach Guus Hiddink. "We hope it is nothing more than that, but the decision [on his fitness] will have to wait until the last minute."

Defensive fears
PSV also have question marks against the availability of defenders Michael Lamey and Michael Reiziger, who sustained calf and hand injuries respectively during Saturday's 4-1 Dutch league win against SC Heerenveen. With André Ooijer already out with a broken toe, and Michael Ball ineligible, Hiddink's defensive options could be seriously reduced. "The injury problems are clear to see, and we will have to have a good think about them," added Hiddink.
