Valencia CF have rewarded Emiliano Moretti for his contribution to their UEFA Champions League qualification by extending the defender's contract.

Valencia CF have rewarded Emiliano Moretti for his contribution to their UEFA Champions League qualification by extending the Italian defender's contract until June 2011.

Two years added
The 25-year-old made 33 league appearances as Valencia finished third in Spain to secure a third qualifying round place. He impressed sufficiently to have two years added to the deal he signed when joining the east-coast club from Parma FC in the summer of 2004. In all, the former ACF Fiorentina, Juventus, Modena FC and Bologna FC left-back has played 56 Primera División games, scoring one goal. Austrian side FC Salzburg stand between Valencia and the UEFA Champions League group stage.
