Short break
Lyon medical staff have said the towering target-man will be out of action until early January after he was ruled out for Sunday's Ligue 1 game against Paris Saint-Germain FC. He will also miss the league games against RC Lens and AS Monaco FC before Lyon's short winter break starts on 23 December.
Injured forwards
The reigning French champions will thus end the year with three centre forwards on their injury list. Brazilian Fred and youngster Karim Benzema sustained thigh injuries earlier this autumn. Sylvain Wiltord is likely to lead the line for Gérard Houllier's side in their absence.
