VfL Wolfsburg have continued their preparations for the UEFA Champions League by signing TSV 1860 München midfielder Fabian Johnson.
Three-year contract
The 21-year-old was part of the Germany squad which won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship last month in Sweden and has moved for an undisclosed fee on a contract until summer 2012. With experience of 90 2. Bundesliga games for 1860, he joins the reigning German titleholders in time for their bow in the UEFA Champions League group stage in September.

"We are very pleased about the signing of Fabian Johnson," said new Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh. "He is a huge talent and has not reached the end of his development by a long way. I am convinced that he will take the next big step forward with us."
