Olympique Lyonnais coach Claude Puel has rated Jérémy Toulalan as "very doubtful" for their UEFA Champions League match at ACF Fiorentina on Tuesday as the midfielder recovers from a groin injury.

Play-off absence
Toulalan, 26, will miss this weekend's Ligue 1 contest away to bottom side Grenoble Foot 38 having sat out France's FIFA World Cup play-off second leg at home to the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday. "He continues to nurse his injury," said Puel. "We are hope he will be back for the next league game [against Stade Rennais FC on 29 November]." Other injury problems are diminishing for the Group E leaders, however, with François Clerc, Anderson, Anthony Réveillère and Maxime Gonalons back in training while Mathieu Bodmer is improving following a groin injury. Lyon have qualified for the knockout stages and will win the section if they overcome the Viola.
