FC Rubin Kazan will travel to Italy for their UEFA Champions League Group F decider against FC Internazionale Milano without Aleksandr Bukharov as the striker recovers from wrist surgery.
The 24-year-old injured his wrist against FC Khimki on 17 October and although he has was soon back in action wearing a cast, surgery was inevitable and Bukharov went under the knife in Germany this week, ruling him out for four weeks. Although the 24-year-old is yet to score in four UEFA Champions League games this season, his 16 goals in 23 Premier-Liga outings played a significant role in Rubin retaining the Russian title.
With centre-back Roman Sharonov already absent with a knee injury, coach Kurban Berdyev is shorn of two key players as Rubin go in search of the victory they need in Milan to guarantee their passage to the knockout rounds.
