A panel of experts have selected 18 Ukrainian winners of a creativity contest on the theme of 'Supporting our team – creating history together'.

Designer Olesya Telizhenko and popular comedians Olexandr Pedan and Serhiy Prytula selected six winners apiece for submissions in three categories – written work, photography and drawings. The 18 winners join the trio as Friends of UEFA EURO 2012.

Entrants were also awarded distinction in each category and received a special prize of tickets for this evening's friendly between Ukraine and Italy. As an added bonus they were subsequently presented prizes by Ukraine international trio Andriy Yarmolenko, Olexandr Shovkovskiy and Andriy Pyatov at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium.

Former Ukraine midfielder Olexiy Mykhailychenko and UEFA EURO 2012 mascots Slavek and Slavko also attended the ceremony in Kyiv, and Ukrainian tournament director Markiyan Lubkivskiy was delighted with what he saw. Lubkivskiy said: "I'm excited to see people from virtually all parts of Ukraine keen to show their love for football and their homeland. Once again it shows that EURO 2012 involves the whole of Ukraine."
