The 29-year-old RC Strasbourg goalkeeper Vincent Fernandez, has signed a three-year contract with former club and French Ligue 2 side, LB Châteauroux.
Eleventh season
Fernandez enjoyed an 18-month spell at 'La Berri' in the mid-1990s before moving on to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, and is now about to begin his eleventh season as a professional.
UEFA Cup campaign
Fernandez has been brought to the club by coach Victor Zvunka for his experience, and it is hoped that he will play a significant part in the team's UEFA Cup campaign, and push for promotion to Ligue 1. Châteauroux are in Europe by virtue of their place in last season's French Cup final which they lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain FC.
