Two-year contract
The 24-year-old defensive midfield player has signed a two-year contract with Standard with the option for a further year, and joins from CR Vasco de Gama in his homeland.
'Athletic player'
Standard originally offered Carlos Alberto a one-year contract, as the club's technical manager Michel Preud'homme explained. "But his father, who is also his manager, wanted a two-year contract to make sure his son would get more stability and development options," Preud'homme said. "After all, it is the first time he has left Brazil. He is an athletic player who can play as a defensive midfield player but also as a central defender."
