Nielsen's bad break for Brøndby

Brøndby IF captain Per Nielsen will miss the start of his club's UEFA Cup campaign and Denmark's next internationals after suffering a broken jaw.

Six-week absence
The 31-year-old will be sidelined for at least six weeks, meaning he will miss both legs of the first-round tie against FC Zürich on 15 and 29 September. Nielsen will also be absent when Denmark play FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month against Turkey and Georgia.

'Terribly annoying'
The defender was hurt in Sunday's Superliga match at AGF Århus, when he collided with team-mate Thomas Hansen just before the end of the 3-0 defeat. "It is terribly annoying," said Nielsen. "I am missing two important internationals as well as a great deal of games for Brøndby."
