FC Basel 1893 have signed South Africa forward Delron Buckley on a season's loan from BV Borussia Dortmund, having the option of a permanent deal next summer.
German experience
Buckley, 28, arrives at the Swiss UEFA Cup challengers with ten years' Bundesliga football behind him as well as 60 international caps. He played 28 times for Dortmund last term following his transfer from DSC Arminia Bielefeld, having previously scored 20 goals in 174 games for VfL Bochum 1848. Buckley, a versatile winger, spent part of his pre-season with English club Everton FC. His new team lead FC Vaduz of Liechtenstein 1-0 going into Thursday's UEFA Cup second qualifying round second leg.
