FC Barcelona have agreed new terms with young goalkeeper Víctor Valdés, extending his contract until June 2008.
Third time lucky
The player's father, José Valdés, and lawyer, Eduardo Ipiens, agreed the new deal with club secretary Txiki Begiristain at Camp Nou today following two previous meetings that ended in stalemate. On signing the new deal, Valdés will receive a substantial pay increase.
Safe hands
The 21-year-old has successfully held on to first-choice status this season, despite the arrival at the the club of Turkey goalkeeper Rüstü Reçber.
