Hamstring tear
The 27-year-old right-back has torn a hamstring in his right leg and will not play again this year. The injury was revealed after a scan at the Primera División club's clinic earlier today.
Short of players
Venta has joined fellow defender Rodolfo Arruabarrena on the casualty list after he was sidelined for three weeks by a thigh problem. With Marcos Senna and Javier Calleja Revilla yet to return from ligament injuries, Villarreal coach Benito Floro has just 16 players at his disposal for the final two league games of the year against Real Sociedad de Fútbol and Real Betis Balompié.
