Atlético sign Spain U21 striker Adrián

Spanish Under-21 international Adrián López has joined Club Atlético de Madrid from RC Deportivo La Coruña on a free transfer following the Galician side's relegation from the Liga.

Club Atlético de Madrid have signed Spanish Under-21 international Adrián López from relegated RC Deportivo La Coruña on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old forward moves to the capital club after a successful summer in which he won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Spain and top-scored at the tournament in Denmark with five goals.

"When I heard about Atlético's interest I didn't think twice," said Adrián. The former Real Oviedo striker made 94 Liga appearances in five seasons with Deportivo, scoring 13 goals. During that time he also had loan spells at Deportivo Alavés and Málaga CF.

UEFA Europa League third qualifying round entrants Atlético have also signed João Miranda, Sílvio and Gabi this summer.
