Sionko seals Austria switch

UEFA Cup contenders FK Austria Wien have signed midfield player Libor Sionko from AC Sparta Praha.

Austrian UEFA Cup contenders FK Austria Wien have signed AC Sparta Praha midfield player Libor Sionko, while rivals VfB Admira Wacker Mödling have given Harald Suchard a new contract.

Two-year contract
Czech international Sionko has already gained experience in Austrian football having spent the last six months at Grazer AK - who beat Austria into second place in both the league and cup this season. The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Austria.

'Very happy'
"We are very happy that we have finally succeeded in bringing in Libor," said Austria director of sport Günter Kronsteiner. His club have also resolved a contractual dispute with goalkeeper Thomas Mandl, who has spent the last six months on loan at SK Sturm Graz and is expected to be sold this summer.

Schuard extension
Meanwhile, Admira have extended the contract of 27-year-old midfield player Suchard for another season until 2005.
