Sevilla top seeds in UEFA Cup draw

Media representatives wishing to attend the 40-team draw for the group stage of the UEFA Cup, in Nyon on 3 October, are urged to apply for accreditation now.

The draw for the group stage of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup will take place on Tuesday 3 October in Nyon, Switzerland from 12.00CET.

Transmitted live
The draw ceremony at UEFA headquarters will be conducted by Roger Vanden Stock, vice-chairman of the UEFA Club Competitions Committee, and will be transmitted live on uefa.com. The 40 participants will be drawn into eight groups of five, with each team playing two matches at home and two away. These 40 sides will be allocated to five pots, in accordance with their respective club coefficients.

Five pots
Pot 1 will comprise the holders Sevilla FC after they comfortably overcame Greek outfit Atromitos FC, and the top seven teams in the club coefficient rankings, Pot 2 the following eight clubs in the standings, and so on for pots 3, 4 and 5. Sides from the same national association will not be drawn in the same group.

Media accreditation
Media representatives wishing to attend this draw have to apply via email to accreditations@uefa.ch before midday on Monday 2 October. Due to the number of club representatives expected for the draw, only photographers and a restricted group of cameramen will be allowed to follow proceedings in the auditorium itself, with access being granted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Sound system
A sound system will be installed for cameramen. Because of interference problems, it is recommended sound engineers do not use the following frequencies while in the House of European Football: 783.875 MHz, 786.125 MHz, 782.250 MHz, 782.875 MHz, 784.625 MHz, 785.250 MHz, 792.500 MHz, 794.75 MHz.
