Saudi Arabia 1-2 Poland
Apollon Limassol FC striker Łukasz Sosin enjoyed a spectacular international debut as he headed both goals in Poland's victory against their fellow FIFA World Cup finalists.
Back with a win
In stifling conditions, the Poles bounced back from their 1-0 defeat against the United States earlier this month with a patient but professional perfomance. They took the lead after just seven minutes when Sosin met a tremendous right-wing cross from Ireneusz Jeleń. The home side equalised when Redha Taker headed in past Jerzy Dudek from a free-kick just before the half-hour.
Germany date
After both teams made several half-time changes, Poland regained the lead through the 28-year-old Sosin's second on 63 minutes, with Jacek Krzynówek the provider this time. Poland coach Paweł Janas fielded just six regular internationals in his starting lineup, with one eye firmly on the World Cup and group-stage meetings with Germany, Costa Rica and Ecuador.
