Slovakia 1-1 Cameroon
A late Eyong Enoh strike denied FIFA World Cup debutants Slovakia victory as they were held to a 1-1 friendly draw by Cameroon in Klagenfurt, Austria, on Saturday.
Kamil Kopúnek fired his first goal for Slovakia with a 20-metre drive following Miroslav Stoch's pass to give Vladimír Weiss's side the lead in the sixth minute. They still held the advantage seven minutes from time when Enoh intervened, bringing down Benoit Assou-Ekotto's cross and scooping the ball over goalkeeper Dušan Kuciak.
Slovakia came desperately close to a second goal that might have settled the contest four minutes into the second half, but Stanislav Šesták's effort was judged not to have crossed the goal line after hitting the bar.
Slovakia play another friendly against Costa Rica in Bratislava next Saturday before flying to South Africa for their first World Cup finals. Weiss's charges will face New Zealand in their opener on 15 June before matches against Paraguay and Italy in Group F.
