Impressive return
Deisler last played for his country in a UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against Iceland in September 2003. The 24-year-old admitted himself to a clinic to be treated for depression shortly after that match, but returned to the Bayern side this summer and has impressed coach Jürgen Klinsmann sufficiently to earn an international recall.
Görlitz in
The only new face in Klinsmann's squad to face Brazil on 8 September is Deisler's club-mate Andreas Görlitz, a 22-year-old defender. However, Klinsmann is without regular defensive bodies Jens Nowotny and Arne Friedrich, because of knee injuries, and Christian Wörns who has dropped out having just recovered from an achilles problem.
