Head coaching ambition
Bordinggaard revealed he would not renew his contract with the Danish Football Association, saying he wanted to become a head coach. "I feel the need to be responsible for my own team - to test my own ideas and take the consequences of the mistakes I make," explained the trainer, who signed a two-year deal ten months ago.
World Cup campaign
The former Danish international, capped four times, coached at Vejle BK before becoming No2 to Morten Olsen in 2002 when Michael Laudrup resigned to join Brøndby IF. Olsen and Bordinggaard's side reached the UEFA EURO 2004™ quarter-finals, and after drawing with Turkey on Wednesday lie fourth but unbeaten in 2006 World Cup qualifying Group 2 with a trip to Georgia to come on 17 November.
