Scotland dare to dream

What a start Scotland have had to their Group A campaign. Steve Clarke's side followed up a stunning 2-0 win against Spain with an equally impressive 2-1 victory away against Erling Haaland's Norway on Saturday, 87th and 89th-minute goals from Lyndon Dykes and Kenny McLean respectively securing another notable result.

Scotland now have a big chance to make it four group wins out of four when they host Georgia on Tuesday, and three points would draw them closer towards securing qualification for just their fourth EURO finals.

Their first appearance on that stage in 24 years ended in disappointment at EURO 2020 as they finished bottom of Group D following defeats by Czechia and Croatia along with a goalless draw against England. But that experience could well prove invaluable, and supporters will feel quietly confident about the possibility of making it to a second finals in a row – and progressing further than they managed last time.

Did you know? Midfielder Scott McTominay has scored four times already in qualification, the same number as Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku of Belgium, with only five-goal Denmark forward Rasmus Højlund managing more.

What else to look out for

• Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his 200th Portugal appearance when his side face Iceland.
• Serbia are regular FIFA World Cup qualifiers but have not graced a EURO since 2000 when they reached the quarter-finals as Yugoslavia – could the wait soon be over? Dragan Stojković, the gifted playmaker of that side, is now in charge and has led his team to two wins out of two. Another away to Bulgaria would underline their credentials.
