Six of the eight sides who will compete at the 2002/03 UEFA Regions' Cup final tournament are now known.
Ticino first through
Swiss side Ticino Amateur became the first side to reach the finals after a 4-2 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina's Entity Amateur in the final winner-takes-all game of the Group 9 qualifying mini-tournament on 21 September.
San Marino landmark
However, the first game of the third edition of the Regions' Cup came a few weeks earlier when San Marino Amateur achieved the first victory by a Sanmarinese side in an official UEFA competition by beating English side Kent CL Amateur 2-0 in the Group 4 mini-tournament.
Bohemia success
This section was ultimately won by Central Bohemia of the Czech Republic, who will face a two-legged intermediate round match against the winners of Group 2 with a place in the final tournament at stake. Group 2 is the only group not to have yet been completed and will take place from 15-18 November. The other intermediate round match will see Group 8 winners Piemonte Valle d'Aosta Amateur take on Göteborg Amateur, the winners of Group 10.
Other qualifiers
Other group winners to have already booked their places in the finals are Geyazan Amateur of Azerbaijan, Ligue du Maine Amateur of France, Szabolcs Gabona Csoport Amateur of Hungary, North District Amateur of the Netherlands and Württemberg Amateur of Germany.
