Kafes first
Greece midfield player Pantelis Kafes, who was released from his contract at FC PAOK after a dispute over unpaid wages, leads the arrivals. The 25-year-old international has signed a three-year contract, with an option for a further two years.
Great chance
Kafes said: “[Joining] Olympiacos gives me an opportunity I never had before: to win championship titles and to compete in the UEFA Champions League. I want to be a part of the team’s future triumphs.”
Double swoop
Also heading to Olympiacos in a double swoop on Xanthi FC are Spyros Vallas, the 22-year-old central defender and captain of the Greek Under-21 squad, and the Slovakian goalkeeper Juraj Bucek. Vallas has signed a four-year contract while the 30-year-old Burak has a two-year deal.
Gonias in
The fourth new face is the 32-year-old playmaker Panagiotis Gonias, who has left Iraklis FC on a free transfer to agree a two-year contract. In all, Olympiacos will have seven new players for next season, following the earlier acquisition of Ieroklis Stoltidis, Alekos Tatsis and defender Tassos Pantos.
