Scholl to miss Arsenal rematch

FC Bayern München's Mehmet Scholl will not be fit to face Arsenal FC after injuring his left thigh on Saturday.

Midfield player Mehmet Scholl injured his thigh during FC Bayern München's 1-0 win over SC Freiburg on Saturday and will be out for three to four weeks, the club said.

Arsenal test
Scholl will miss the second leg of Bayern's UEFA Champions League first knockout-round tie with Arsenal FC in London on 9 March. The 34-year-old came off the substitutes' bench in Bayern's 3-1 win over Arsenal in the first leg in Munich on Wednesday and sent a free-kick straight to the head of Claudio Pizarro for their second goal.

Ballack out
On Saturday, Scholl pulled a muscle in his left thigh and hobbled off in the 78th minute after coming on after the break. It was Scholl's second injury in 2005. On 30 January, he injured his knee in a match against Hertha Berlin. Michael Ballack, another of Bayern's creative midfield players, did not play against Freiburg because of illness.
