Liverpool hit by double blow

Liverpool FC may be without Dietmar Hamann and Stephen Warnock for the first meeting with Juventus FC.

Three week lay-offs
Hamann has suffered a medial knee ligament injury and has been ruled out for up to three weeks, while Warnock will definitely be out of action for the same period with a sprained ankle. Both were hurt in Sunday's 2-1 derby victory against Everton FC.

Morientes injury
With Juventus due at Anfield a fortnight from today, neither is expected to figure in manager Rafael Benítez's plans and they could also miss the second leg on 13 April. Spanish striker Fernando Morientes suffered a torn calf muscle against Everton and is sidelined for up to three weeks as well, but he is ineligible for European action.
