Happy Magath intent on top spot

Felix Magath wants FC Bayern München to win Group A after enjoying "a great night" against an SK Rapid Wien side "taught a lesson" in Germany.

Felix Magath, Bayern coach
The most important aspect for us is that we have already reached the next round, but we also want to win our group. My team showed this ambition on the pitch today. Our performance became better after the opening goal and in the second half it was a great match. I have seen many positive aspects in my team and that makes tonight wonderful. Roy Makaay has returned to his full strength and Sebastian Deisler was outstanding. Bastian Schweinsteiger performed excellently in the second half and I am glad that Philipp Lahm was able to celebrate his comeback in the UEFA Champions League.

Josef Hickersberger, Rapid coach
There are many reasons for the loss. The most decisive one was that Bayern were the better team. They have the better individual players and taught us a lesson. I think that we can play better, but we have to accept that top European teams such as Juventus and Bayern are on another level than the Austrian champions. We cannot afford to show fear to such sides, but I have to say that I failed to give my players the necessary self-confidence. Bayern were superior in every respect.
