Robson replaces Jarošík at Celtic

Celtic FC have signed Barry Robson from fellow Premier League side Dundee United FC while allowing Jiří Jarošík to join Russia's FC Krylya Sovetov Samara.

Scottish champions Celtic FC have signed midfielder Barry Robson from fellow Premier League side Dundee United FC while allowing Jiří Jarošík to join Russia's FC Krylya Sovetov Samara.

One in, one out
The 29-year-old has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the UEFA Champions League contenders, commanding a fee in the region of €1.4m. Leaving Celtic, meanwhile, is Czech Republic midfielder Jarošík. The 30-year-old has been limited to eight league outings with Gordon Strachan's side this term and goes to Krylya Sovetov on a two-year contract, for a fee of around €1m.

Scotland cap
Robson has caught the eye as captain of Dundee United this season, scoring eleven goals in 21 league games to help the Tangerines up to third in the table. He made his Scotland debut in August's friendly with South Africa. Having begun his career with Celtic's city rivals Rangers FC without making an appearance, he moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC then Dundee United in 2003. If registered, Robson will be eligible for the UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against FC Barcelona.

Jarošík farewell
Jarošík says goodbye to Celtic Park after 18 months in Glasgow. The former AC Sparta Praha, Chelsea FC and Birmingham City FC player will return to Russia's Premier-Liga, where he played for PFC CSKA Moskva between 2003 and 2004.
