Barcelona face up to Jeffrén absence

Forward Jeffrén will be unavailable for FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League trips to FC København and Panathinaikos FC next month because of a dislocated left shoulder sustained on Copa del Rey duty.

The 22-year-old attacking player was replaced 30 minutes into Tuesday's 2-0 victory at AD Ceuta in the last 32 of the cup – his first Barcelona start of the season – after falling awkwardly. Tests have since shown that the Spanish Under-21 international will be sidelined for at least four weeks, missing the encounter with FCK on 2 November and the visit to Athens three weeks later. The Blaugrana lead Group D by a point from København having picked up two wins and a draw from three matches.
