United's Smalling, Young nurse foot injuries

Manchester United FC defender Chris Smalling could be out for a month due to a fractured foot, while a toe injury is also likely to keep winger Ashley Young out of the visit of FC Oţelul Galaţi.

Manchester United FC expect to take on FC Oţelul Galaţi on Wednesday without Chris Smalling and Ashley Young as the English international duo nurse foot injuries.

Sir Alex Ferguson revealed on Saturday that defender Smalling picked up "a small fracture on his foot" which kept him out of the Premier League champions' 1-0 win at Everton FC. "I think he'll be out for a month and it's unfortunate that one," he said, adding: "Ashley Young has a toe injury that is not going away so he could be out for a couple of weeks."

United are looking to record back-to-back UEFA Champions League wins against Oţelul after a 2-0 victory in Romania last time out.
