'Five-year contract'
The 21-year-old forward joins the Lithuanian champions from FK Sarajevo, who won the Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup last season but missed out on the 2005/06 UEFA Cup due to licensing problems. Pehlic said: "I have signed a five-year contract with excellent conditions. It was all done very quickly."
Petrenko arrives
Kaunas, who welcome the European champions on Tuesday night before a trip to Anfield next week, have also secured the signature of defensive midfielder Vadim Petrenko, 31, from UEFA Intertoto Cup semi-finalists FK Žalgiris Vilnius. Petrenko replaces Georgian player Givi Kvaratskhelia whose contract has been cancelled.
