FRIDAY
Qatar 1-2 Turkey (Ali Assadalla 26; Arda 70, Cenk 73)

Fatih Terim's Turkey came from behind to win the first meeting between these countries. The visitors required two goals in four second-half minutes to quell a counterattacking Qatari team, in a match notable for Beşiktaş forward Cenk Tosun's first strike for Turkey and a debut for Mainz midfielder Yunus Mallı.

Czech Republic 4-1 Serbia (Sivok 17, Necid 63pen, Krejčí 81, Zahustel 90; Škuletić 78)
Petar Škuletić's maiden goal for Serbia briefly gave the away side hope, but substitutes Ladislav Krejčí and Ondřej Zahustel – on his senior international debut – quickly placed the Czechs back in charge.

Wales 2-3 Netherlands (Ledley 45+3, Huws 70; Dost 32, Robben 54 81)
Although the Netherlands edged this five-goal thriller, Wales manager Chris Coleman will take plenty of positives from the performances of youngsters Tom Lawrence and Emyr Huws, the latter getting his first national-team goal. It was the experienced Arjen Robben, however, who proved the match winner.

Belgium 3-1 Italy (Vertonghen 13, De Bruyne 74, Batshuayi 82; Candreva 3)
Kevin De Bruyne turned the tide in Belgium's favour with his fourth strike in five internationals after a Jan Vertonghen header had wiped out Antonio Candreva's opener. Lazio midfielder Michy Batshuayi put the result beyond doubt by firing past Gianluigi Buffon.

Watch Poland qualify for UEFA EURO 2016

Poland 4-2 Iceland (Grosicki 51, Kapustka 66, Lewandowski 75 79; Sigurdsson 4pen, Finnbogason 69)
UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying top scorer Robert Lewandowski struck twice late on as Poland beat fellow finalists Iceland. The Bayern München star's double took him past Andrzej Szarmach's tally of 32 international goals and into fifth on Poland's all-time list.

Northern Ireland 1-0 Latvia (Davis 55)
Captain Steven Davis settled matters, forcing the ball in from Craig Cathcart's cross after his initial header had been parried. The Northern Irish had gone 23 friendlies without a win, dating back to a 4-1 success against Georgia in 2008.

Slovakia 3-2 Switzerland (Ďuriš 39 48, Mak 55; Derdiyok 63, Drmic 67)
Michal Ďuriš's first two national-team goals helped Slovakia to victory at the newly-built Spartak Trnava Stadium. Róbert Mak added a third ten minutes after the interval, but Switzerland battled back and ultimately threatened to claim a draw.

Spain 2-0 England (Gaspar 72, Cazorla 84)
Mario Gaspar's sensational opener helped Spain condemn the Three Lions to a first defeat in 16 games. With Cesc Fàbregas's flicked pass dropping over his right shoulder and his back to goal, Gaspar swivelled on the edge of the box and unleashed a sensational acrobatic volley into the far left corner. Santi Cazorla stroked a neat second in off the base of the post six minutes from time.

France 2-0 Germany (Giroud 45, Gignac 86)
Olivier Giroud and André-Pierre Gignac notched a goal in either half as Les Bleus overcame Germany, who eliminated them at the quarter-final stage of the FIFA World Cup on their way to lifting the trophy in Brazil.

SATURDAY
Russia 1-0 Portugal (Shirokov 89)
Roman Shirokov finished off a great passing move a minute from time to give Russia their fifth win in five matches since Leonid Slutski replaced Fabio Capello. Portugal were without Cristiano Ronaldo among others, relying on Rui Patrício to keep them afloat with saves from Artem Dzyuba and Pavel Mamaev. Igor Akinfeev denied Gonçalo Guedes and João Mário too, before Russia eventually launched a great counterattack which culminated in Shirokov taking his chance.
