Article body
'An exciting test'
Larsen has agreed a two-year deal after a month of talks with the Faroe Islands Football Association (FSF). "I don't know anything about Faroese football, but it will be exciting to test my abilities as coach of a national side," he said. Laursen, a EURO 92 winner, will work on a part-time basis starting in July.
Comings and goings
He replaces another Dane, Allan Simonsen, who resigned after eight years in the job to become Luxembourg coach. Larsen himself quit as trainer of Danish second division side Ølstykke IF on Monday.
Three-goal hero
Larsen scored three times during Denmark's successful campaign at the 1992 UEFA European Championship - the highlight of a playing career including spells at Lyngby BK, Pisa Calcio, Aston Villa FC, SV Waldhof Mannheim 07, Lyngby FC and FC København.
