Ibertsberger setback for Austria

Austrian international defender Andreas Ibertsberger has fractured his cheekbone and will miss his country's friendly matches against Chile and Japan.

Operation
Ibertsberger was injured during Austria's 1-1 friendly draw with the Czech Republic in Vienna on Wednesday night and has undergone surgery. The 25-year-old is expected to miss a month of action with his club, German 2. Bundesliga side SC Freiburg, as well as Austria's matches against Chile and Japan in early September. National team coach Josef Hickersberger said: "This is a blow because we don't have as large a pool of players as other countries."
