Löw looking forward to Turkey test

There were no surprises in Germany coach Joachim Löw's squad for the upcoming UEFA EURO 2012 Group A qualifiers against Turkey and Kazakhstan.

Germany won their opening games against Belgium and Azerbaijan and Löw will be expecting more of the same when his side host Turkey in Berlin on 8 October before playing in Astana four days later. The only changes in the squad involve injured striker Stefan Kiessling making way for the fit-again Jerome Boateng, and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz being called up for his first competitive international.

"There is no need for big changes," Löw said. "We trust our established forces who played during the World Cup and have fulfilled our expectations in the EURO qualifier wins in September. Some new young players have shone with some outstanding performances in the Bundesliga, but in consultation with [Under-21 coach] Rainer Adrion we have decided, with the rebuilding of the Under-21 side, those players should have their first 90 minutes of international football there."

That means no place yet for the likes of Lewis Holtby, André Schürrle, Christoph Moritz and Sebastian Rudy. Indeed, 17 of the 22 players in the squad competed at the FIFA World Cup, with Grosskreutz, René Adler, Heiko Westermann, Christian Träsch and Sascha Riether the new faces that have joined the party since.

"We see Turkey as the strongest opposition in our group and their new coach Guus Hiddink will send out a well-drilled team," Löw added. "A lot of Turks live in Berlin and they will get behind their team at the Olympiastadion. We are prepared for that and will be able to handle the situation."
