AS Nancy-Lorraine have suffered a major setback after Moroccan striker Moncef Zerka sustained a double leg fracture in the Ligue 1 side's French Cup defeat against RC Lens on Saturday.
Significant loss
The 25-year-old broke the tibia and fibula of his left leg after an awkward collision with Lens captain Seydou Keita with the game just minutes old. Nancy eventually lost 9-8 on penalties after a thrilling match had ended 3-3, but the disappointment of that result could be eclipsed by the loss of Zerka, who has appeared in 16 of the side's 19 league games so far this season. He may not add to that tally and will certainly miss next month's UEFA Cup last 32 tie against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
