Poulsen prize lifts Midtjylland

FC Midtjylland have signed left-sided midfielder Christopher Poulsen from rivals Viborg FF as they prepare for the new Danish season and UEFA Cup qualifying.

'New challenges'
The 25-year-old former Silkeborg IF talent has agreed a four-year contract and cannot wait to get started. He said: "After two fine years at Viborg, I needed new challenges, and at FC Midtjylland I am going to play in a team at the top of the Danish league - and a team, who are going to play in Europe as well." Midtjlland have also signed Slovakia defender Maros Klimpl, while attacking midfielder Mikkel Thygesen has returned from relegated Bundesliga club VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach. Midtjylland start the UEFA Cup in the first qualifying round with a two-legged tie against Keflavík of Iceland on 19 July and 2 August.
