Goals galore
The 25-year-old scored 21 goals in 32 league games for KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen last season, having only joined them a year ago from R. Charleroi SC. It was at that side that Sterchele made his top-flight debut in the 2005/06 season under current Club Brugge coach Jacky Mathijssen, a campaign where he would eventually score nine goals in 31 games. He was capped by his country for the first time on 24 March, a 4-0 defeat by Portugal in UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying and has since played twice more for the Red Devils. Club Brugge, who reportedly beat off interest from English and Dutch sides as well as RSC Anderlecht, will enter the UEFA Cup in September's first round.
