Spartak snap up goalkeeper Dzhanaev

FC Spartak Moskva coach Stanislav Cherchesov has signed Russia Under-21 goalkeeper Soslan Dzhanaev from FC KamAZ-Chally Naberezhnye Chelny.

FC Spartak Moskva have signed Russia Under-21 goalkeeper Soslan Dzhanaev from FC KamAZ-Chally Naberezhnye Chelny ahead of February's UEFA Cup Round of 32 encounter with Olympique de Marseille.

Breakthrough
The 20-year-old is a graduate of the PFC CSKA Moskva academy but made his breakthrough after joining second division KamAZ, helping them finish fourth in 2007 and establishing himself in Russia's U21 team. He said: "Of course, I know it will be very difficult in Moscow, but you do not think twice when you get an invitation from Spartak." Dzhanaev, like fellow new signing Igor Gorbatenko but unlike ex-FC BATE Borisov defender Yegor Filipenko, will be eligible to be included in Spartak's squad for the UEFA Cup or at least for the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, which Stanislav Cherchesov's club reached by finishing second in Russia.
