Bolton Wanderers FC have agreed to make Maccabi Netanya FC and Israel midfielder Tamir Cohen their first signing of the winter, agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal.

'Another step forward'
The UEFA Cup contenders will sign the 23-year-old provided he is given international clearance. "My dream has come true and I'm taking another step forward in my career," said Cohen, whose father Avi played in England for Liverpool FC between 1979 and 1981. "I expect to continue my progress and justify Gary Megson's faith in me."

'Valuable asset'
"I'm really pleased to be able to add someone of Tamir's potential to our squad," said Bolton manager Megson of the three-times capped Cohen. "He will need to get used to the demands of the Premier League like all new players but I am certain he will be a valuable asset." Bolton meet Club Atlético de Madrid in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on 13/14 and 21 February 2008.
