Short-term deal
The 34-year-old Scotland international Dailly has agreed a short-term deal and will provide defensive cover following Ugo Ehiogu's departure for Sheffield United FC earlier this month. Dailly, who has been capped 66 times for Scotland, will be eligible for Sunday's Scottish Cup fifth round tie at Hibernian FC.
'A dream move'
Capped twice for Scotland, the 29-year-old Alexander is eager to earn a regular place in the national team and Ipswich manager Jim Magilton therefore allowed him to join the Glasgow giants on a deal until 2011. "It's a dream move for Neil and we couldn't stand in his way," said Magilton. "He's back in the Scotland squad and we know he wants to enhance his ambitions. It's a great opportunity for him and we wish him well." Rangers meet Panathinaikos FC in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 in February.
