First task
The 22-year-old, who played in the Swedish side's 3-0 UEFA Cup first qualifying round win at FC Racing Union Luxembourg last week, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Heerenveen, who are coached by Norwegian Trond Sollied. "I'm happy that everything has been sorted and I'm looking forward to playing for Heerenveen, but my task right now is to make sure that Kalmar wins the league," said Elm, who has been capped once for Sweden.
Band of brothers
The midfielder plays alongside his brothers Rasmus and David at Kalmar, who are four points clear at the top of the Swedish table. In his third professional season at the club, the 1.92m-tall Viktor Elm is held in high regard in Sweden for his vision, passing and eye for the goal. "Elm is a hard-working midfielder who likes to join the attack and a good header, but is also capable of some good defending," said Heerenveen general director Yme Kuiper.
