Gloomy prognosis
Egyptian forward Zidan picked up a knee injury in a challenge with Maurizio Domizzi after just three minutes and was substituted after ten minutes. Only 13 minutes later, defender Hummels was also on his way off the pitch after damaging his ankle, with coach Jürgen Klopp conceding after the game: "He will definitely be out for the next few games." Hummels has played in all four of Dortmund's Bundesliga fixtures this season, and the German side could ill afford further absences considering they are already missing Dedé (torn cruciate ligaments), Patrick Owomoyela (torn thigh muscle), Delron Buckley (muscular problems) and Robert Kovač (gastroenteritis).
