AC Milan have brought in 20-year-old right-back Felipe Mattioni from Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense on loan with an option to sign a four-and-a-half year contract in the summer.

Rising star

The versatile Brazilian defender, who also has an Italian passport, passed a medical on Thursday and could make his debut for Carlo Ancelotti's side on Saturday night against ACF Fiorentina. "Many other clubs were interested in Mattioni, but he has always dreamed of playing for Milan," said the player's agent Mino Raiola. The Rossoneri are third in Serie A, nine points behind city rivals FC Internazionale Milano, and through to the UEFA Cup Round of 32 where they will face Werder Bremen on 18 and 26 February.
