Twente transfer for Rukavytsya

Eredivisie high-flyers FC Twente have added to their attacking options ahead of their return to UEFA Cup action by signing Nikita Rukavytsya from Perth Glory FC on a one-and-a-half year contract with the option of a further two-season extension.

Prolific campaign
The 21-year-old Australian, who was born in Ukraine, signed for an undisclosed fee for the side who sit third in the Dutch league and trail leaders AZ Alkmaar by seven points. Rukavytsya had been contesting his third season with Perth and had scored 10 times in 19 league games this term. He had been on trial with 'De Tukkers' prior to the deal and coach Steve McClaren was impressed enough to make the signing permanent. Twente face Olympique de Marseille in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on 19 and 26 February.
